| Bio: | *character journal for dusk_academy* [ Character’s Name ] – Rufus Shinra [ Series ] – FinalFantasy VII [ Character’s Element ] – Water & [ Teacher or Student? ] – Student, House of Shiva, First Year (rooms with Yuubae, Tsukikage, & Zexion) [ Character Profile ] – Only son of the president of Shinra Company (that we know of), Rufus has been groomed for the succession since childhood, attaining vice-presidency by the young age of eighteen. In addition to his studies at Dusk Academy, Rufus maintains his status as acting CEO of ShinRa, and strives to excel in everything he does--which includes manipulating others both above and below his rank--though most people tend to view hims as little more than Shinra's spoiled prince. He is rarely seen without one or more of his cohort, the Turks, which may contributes to his reputation as a tyrant and a bully...though the word 'coward' is never spoken too loudly. [ Appearance ] – Tall (5'9") with pale/strawberry blond hair & blue eyes. Well groomed like the nobility he is, Rufus keeps his hair smartly trimmed with a few locks styled forward in dashing, debonair fashion. His favorite set of clothing is a white, double breasted, three-piece suit with charcoal accents and fingerless black gloves (because it makes him look larger/more intimidating). [ Personality ] –Cool, calculating, and ambitious, with a streak of sarcasm, Rufus often comes off as untouchable and aloof. In reality he is deeply determined to out-do his predecessor...one way or another.[ History ] – For as long as he can remember, Rufus has been living in the ShinRa shadow, following his father's footsteps like the dutiful son he is. He remembers little about his mother, except that she was beautifully tragic, but he suspects that she was strategically eliminated for standing in the way of the ShinRa empire. He would never admit it, but Rufus has felt her absence deeply, and refuses to forgive his father for the imagined injustice. As a teenager, Rufus was never openly rebellious, but harbored a secret interest in the eco-terrorist movement, going so far as to fund a group of his own, with which he planned to one day overthrow his father. His involvement in the counter-culture was short lived however, as his father discovered where Rufus was funneling his allowance money and quickly put the kibosh on that, placing him under protective custody with the Turks and keeping most of the scandal under wraps. Since his acceptance into Dusk Academy, Rufus has developed a mild interest in the five element theory of traditional Chinese medicine, but he continues to seek more subtle ways to undermine his father's position. He struggles daily with a sense of inadequacy, but he speaks of it to no one, and it only serves to further his pursuit of excellence. [ Pets ] – Rufus keeps a catlike guard-beast, called Dark Nation, which he has been training since they were young [ Other ? ] – Weapon of choice: shotgun. Also skilled in Taming/Beastmastery.
